For real track junkies, a little better material on the full solid disc is needed.

Agreed it you don't go full out on a race clutch it's drivable.

Now after looking at this failure near the spring, (and if Peter's clutch shows the exact same failure) I think I am going to change the 3.8 PP and clutch to something better before it fails.

I was lucky before when the RSR PP failed and had no gearbox cell damage, just some scratches, risking it again seems like a bad idea.

On the other hand the 4L PP doesn't look very different.
What you can see from these pics?

The difference in pressure plates can be seen from the side more than the top. It is a bolted pressure plate in lieu of riveted

I screwed up on not taking pictures of the side

I have not read the above.
Car will be done Tuesday $2700.
Champion really stepped up twice now. No thanks to Porsche. I think it is disgraceful.

Porsche knows they have a defective part and did not allow the dealer to put in the preceding 4. Clutch.

Do you need to replace the throw out bearing as well when swapping from 3.8 to 4.0 PP and clutch?

The bearing is what actually broke initially and they replaced it along with 4.0 pressure plate. They left clutch in that broke within 100 miles.

I agree with this.

When I put in a new PP for my 997mk1.gt3 I went with a non-spring version for the Friction Disk (this is what Alex at Sharkwerks sent). You would not know the difference at all - the PP is the OE unit for the 997gt3.mk1.

There is a 'tiny' increase in nose as without the spring, very slightly more vibration is transmitted - but getting rid of the springs is a better solution in my opinion.

Just picked up the car at Champion, no invoice yet they are rightfully still arguing with Porsche.
The clutch pedal much lighter with the 4.0 PP, but I don't remember anyone saying 4.0's clutch pedals are lighter?!

Going to PBIR tonight to test the car and see if all is OK for Sebring Saturday and again PBIR for Sunday.
