Default Battery Replcement

Hello,

Maybe some one can help me with my issue.

Left 2007 GT3 RS parked for a few weeks. Returned and found battery dead.

Forgot about what happens when you insert the key, so ended up jumping the hood release fuse.

Removed the battery and brought home, put on overnight charger.

Installed in car, the alarm will not stop no matter how many time I push the disarm button on the key, as well the light washer sprayers keep spraying, and same with the sprayers for the windshield.

Can anyone help? I can't find my manual, and I'm stuck.

Regards,

Danes,

4 years on a Porsche OEM battery is pretty good. You may need a new one. Worst thing for a battery is to run it low (near dead) and recharge. Buy a new battery (Interstate, Wal Mart, AutoZone, etc....). Then buy yourself a Porsche battery maintainer for about $47 from places like Sunset Porsche. When your not driving your GT3, plug her in. The battery will last +4-6 years.

After the battery is in the car, you may need to insert the key into the ingition, and turn to position #1, just prior to starting. This re-awakes the alarm system.

I thought you have to unlock the car using the key (metal blade in the key hole) to turn the alarm off.
