Default AAA membership - alternatives?

I've had a AAA Premier membership for a long time and my renewal is coming up - is anyone else using AAA or is there something better out there (assume that we are talking about a car purchased from a private party - so no brand new car towing deals included)? thanks!

I've kept the AAA, it always pays off for me.

+1. The radius of coverage just happens to include Buttonwillow, Fontana and Rosamond

Premier for us, too.

It's cheap insurance with vintage cars. We've had to use it twice this year - burst (new!) water hose on the wife's Dino and a failed clutch/starter interlock switch on her Boxster S.
