I just bought a 1/2" bolt from home depot for 70 cents. Not sure if that is the right size tho until I take my wheels off again.
Previously I inserted needle nose pliers into the bolt, opened them gently, and lightly wiggled the bolt - it easily jumps forward into place. For me the trick was tightening the centerlock somewhat snugly with the centerlock tool by hand. If the centerlock was too loose, I could not get the bolt to pop into place.
