Default LSD Recommendations

My 997.2 GT3's LSD is shot after only 2500 miles and one light track day. Any recommendations to a more durable one? I would prefer those which don't make noise in tight turn. Appreciate any recommendation

Are you sure it's shot? That seems really soon for a LSD to go bad.

Yes I'm suprprised myself too. It was making a lot of rattling noise when I turn right. Workshop took it out of the gearbox already. I need a replacement fast but I'm not located in the US.

Ouch. Well that sucks then.

Only choices that gets mentioned is Guards LSD or a Cup Car LSD. If you are overseas, a cup LSD might be easier to obtain. Good luck....

I had my LSD replaced with CUP LSD but adapted for our grip level and street car.

Cup one sounds good. Is the cup unit more duarble than the stock one in the car?

Anyone knows the part number for Cup LSD for a 997.2? I don't have access to Cup's parts here. Thanks in advance

Anything is more durable than the stock unit

Reter has been using his for a while and he tracks a lot.

You don't need to take them out to check if they are shot or no.

950 332 981 81

Used on the 2002 cup cars. 2003 and on have higher preload LSD packs.

Actually would recommend as another option to have your rebuilt with Cup internals from Matt at Guard. If you are in a hurry I would say just get the Guard. Can be preset properly for your car. And if cost is not issue then sure where ever you are, can be to you in a couple days. One downside to the Guard unit... It is so darn pretty that you will want it as a piece of art in your house instead of in your car... Good luck.

To be clear, the part number I posted is for the cup's LSD disc pack set and not the complete LSD unit.
