WTB: 2x 245/40/18 Toyo RA1

You owe me 2 tires buddy...
Would mix & match work for RA1 and NT-01? I know Toyo owns Nitto but the sidewall stiffness probably is and the thread design is different...

I've ran them before on my Mustang and still do as well as other Mustangs. Good tire, but the rear size is not available and even in 305 they don't seem to be happy, I've seen a lit of issues with the wide rears that we don't see with the RA1's, but for front I think it will be fine. The fronts don't seem to do too much work.

i got 335 RA1 in rear now with 275 NT01 in front, works fine so far, no rubbing. on 18" 9" front 12" rear rims. no abs or PSM CELs.
275 tire on a 9" rim is a bit too much. it obviously wants 9.5" at least or 10". But it works noticably better than 245 tire before it.
I have one more pair of new unshaved RA1 in 335, not sure if I will use them, probably will switch to NT01 completely. 335 RA1 are just less than half inch taller than 275 NT01 fronts. 315 NT01 are just a bit smaller than 275 NT01 fronts and imho 315 NT01 will probably work better than 335 RA1.

From the Nitto website:
Size Dia width
245/40ZR18 25.55 9.72
275/35ZR18 25.55 10.91
275/40ZR18 26.65 10.94
OEM front is 25.7 OD, but 10.9" width seem too much? Did you make any modifications?
245/40/18 seems a good fit with 335 RA1's compared to stock sizes for RS.

PS. I would love to try 10" wide rims in front Rad wrote about but I have no clue how could he make it fit there. With my 9" wides it fills up all available space there, i do not get how could he get 10" wide rims there with 285 rubber.

Jurnes; Referencing Nitto NT-01s: Great DE tire at a very good price, and you can run them all the way to cord w/good traction.
There is a fitment issue that can cause a limp mode response from the DME in the tire sizes that are available for 997 P car fitment.
I ran 245 40 18 front and 315 30 18 in the rear on my 997.1 C2S and got limp mode on track. The size differential of these tires is off by about .5 inches, comparred to stock fitments, and this causes an OBD error code: "Torque Comparison Function Motion Signal Implausible".
I'm switching to R888's in 245 40 18 front and 305 35 18 rear which gets the sizes back to within .1 of stock ratio.

I drove back from Sebring on R6's. Loved it ... got a terrible 7 minute storm. Lost the back and the front at the same time at around 60 MPH on the straight line, not fun. AWD sucks sometimes.
At least I got to use the tires, as the car could barely be driven at the track.
