Default GMG owes me $5800 dollars :(

Hey guys-

I tried to be mature and go the route of contacting GMG directly but that has led me here. I feel like I am fighting with a bunch of 10 year olds. I ordered a set of 18 inch centerlock wheels for my 2010 GT3 and a few weeks later the wheels arrived wrapped in Toyo R888 (Early June) $7282...

I brought the wheels to my local dealer to be mounted and the rear wheels were not properly machined. They would not fit the car properly. The falnge on the inside of the centerlock part of the wheel had too much material thus causing the wheel to not sit flush, about 3-5mm of clearance gap. I contacted GMG right away, and the technician spoke to Fabryce about the issue. I had to send photos, emails back and forth...finally they sent me two new rear wheels.

Same issue, NOT fitting. We tried several other 2010+ Gt3 at the dealership, NOT a problem with my car like GMG suggested...At this point I had missed 10-12 track days due to this wheel issue, and I was getting pissed off.

I have since sold my GT3 and all wheels have been returned to GMG. Miraculously, when GMG puts them on another 2010+ GT3 they fit with no issues. I have asked the guys at GMG for a refund (less tires) for the wheels as they have them all and they simply never worked for me.

To the guys at GMG, this BS you pull will catch up with you one day. I have no idea how you guys sleep at night screwing people that work very hard for every penny to pay for this stuff.

It is beyond me how you treat customers like this. I have asked for a refund, and this is FINAL time.

Pretty incredulous... how was the fitting with other GT3s at your dealer? Same issues with the same wheels in the same corners, or problems all around? For completeness' sake, was your local shop experienced with CL's?

Front wheels fit perfectly, the two sets of rear wheels they sent me NEVER worked. Cannot drive the car with two wheels...

Dealer is very capable and HONEST.

wait.. So you don't have the wheels... And no compensation?

Edit: as always, there is at least one more side to the story... and now that the info is out, I'm more confused than ever

Would be curious to hear the other side of the story but, bottom line, if they have the wheels, you should have your money back. Good luck.

Martin,

Interesting that you shared your story but only felt compelled to tell half of it.
We have the wheels back in our shop as of yesterday, and they fit the 997.2 Centerlock setup that we have in the shop.

Plus, you failed to mention that you sold your car after you bought the wheels and were most likely looking for a way to return them.

Am I just supposed to return your money because you now don't want the wheels?
Your dishonesty regarding this matter is what is the most disappointing. I don't need your money but I don't like being mislead and taken advantage of.

We checked them today and they fit, we are more than happy to verify this for you via video if you like but going on the forums, bashing a respectable company that has thousands of clients who are satisfied with their GMG products, is no way to resolve this issue.

I even tried to call you tonight per my last email and you didn't take the call. I guess you were to busy to jump on your laptop and bash away.....

That is a bummer.

My GMG wheels fit fine on my .2 3rs and my WC cage works great. I know one other rennlister here that likes his wheels.

I had the luxury of visiting their shop so that makes working out any issues easier.

I know there is always two sides to every story so I hope you guys can work out your issue.

Good luck

Yikes, mods need to lock and delete this thread. No need for it here.

Lies? You forced them on. Good thing to do with a centerlock wheel.

I sold my car after my motor blew up and was returned to stock. The wheels have absolutely nothing to do with this? Good try though

I emailed you

You have my wheels, and money. If the wheels worked, I would have sold them on the forum just like I have other sets of wheels...I am being taken advantage of. How about the fact you ran my CC for an additional $2k for another set of rear wheels when the first set never even worked? $10k for wheels that do not fit, sure sounds like me taking advantage of you.

We checked them today and they fit, we are more than happy to verify this for you via video if you like but going on the forums, bashing a respectable company that has thousands of clients who are satisfied with their GMG products, is no way to resolve this issue.

GMG is run by heartless people. You float on peoples money and this is proven here. If you have thousands of satisfied clients, you should have the sense to make this right and refund my money.

I even tried to call you tonight per my last email and you didn't take the call. I guess you were to busy to jump on your laptop and bash away.....

I do not have a laptop, maybe I can buy one with the money you refund me?
See bold.

Well... a good number of vendors have had reputations enhanced here on RL - Sharkwerks and Guard Transmission are two fine examples. That is because people were effuse in their recollection of their experience with them, I made purchase decisions based almost entirely on user experiences from here, particularly with regard to customer service. Now, it does help that both these shops easily live up to their reputations when you deal with them.

Conversely, I have no issue broadcasting negative (and sometimes VERY negative) experience with vendors - this is a forum, and a good one.

This particular chat might get a little ugly but I am curious how it plays out.
