I'd take a 997 GT2 over any GT3. Even better if it's the RS.

The 4.0 isnt in the conversation. You KNOW they will be 100K OVER MSRP except for those whose Dealers
wo love them.(the customers) I bet 1/3 of the 4.0s will be over MSRP

In reality the 4.0 is going to be $200k more than the GT2 in this conversation.

Before you try to ridicule the OP do some research first. I said in my OP that EXCELLENCE CLAIMS THIS PRICE not me.

At least ENTHUSIAST has a realistic view on whats going on in the market.

THEN I asked the question if thats TRUE would YOU buy one.
Now back on topic.
Just got my Excellence and looked this up. It's pricing in a chart. We don't know if it sold on Jan 1st 2011 (dead of winter) and/or if the car had a salvage title and/or 100,000 miles.

I stand by my opinion that if one could buy a clear title, good condition 2008 GT2 for $100k it would be the deal of the year and that car does not currently exist in real life.

No ridicule nor personal attack intended in my post my friend, I apologize for coming across that way The $100k GT2 would be my fantasy and that is what was intended to come across.

My fault, abit punchy with all the trips to the hospital in the last 6 weeks with 2 trips to Reno and 6 trips to
Hollywood.
I still think it exists though. So does Bigfoot. High mileage on one of these cars in my opinion would be a 2 owner car with
15K miles. That would be the LOW 2008 GT2 example in the mag.

A no-story low mileage 997 GT2 for $100K is a steal.

hmm... This price on a GT2 may be possible but I don't put much stock in Anderson's pricing
his 993 values have been notoriously low for years and by a lot

Not a surprise anymore. A good one should go around 110-120. Thought about it, as I thought about the .2RS, and everything else on the market. Couldn't justify. Is not 40K better than my Cheater .... looks a lot better though, but that's about it. Will take a while until I buy another modern Porsche. 991 Carrera S, for sure will be my next daily, and waiting until they make a GT3, or another rewarding GT2.
Right now, looking for some air cooled options.

If the price was between $130-140K with the RS seats it's a phenomenal buy IMHO.
If you want similar performance to the RS, another 10k investment

Yea I read that also in Exc Mag.
As for 997s they all keep dropping in price.....GT2 is just getting hit harder. 2007 and 2008 GT3s are also falling more than I would like to see as a owner. RS's don't seem to be dropping as fast, seems strange to me, the RS vs GT2 value plunge. Given current market/economy situation, I would expect a high of 100k in less than a couple years even for lower mileage GT2 examples. I am not shocked at all in this market. A great time to be a cash buyer...a bad time to be the first owner...

Ok, I got $100K cash. Do I buy a GT2 or do I wait untill the GT3 RS MKII is about the $100K range? Also, is the GT2RS $175K better than the GT2 997? I don't think so... I am looking for a car I can keep for a long time and I want to feel like it is cool every time I open the garage door. I am 2hours from Sebring, so that could be a factor too. Also, I hate cars with too many computers, if ain't there it ain't gonna break if you know what I mean...
