Does the price not depend on the color? Lots more of some colors then others and that must have an impact on the price..........

I guess that is the crazy part - you can get a 3.8RS for lets call it 110K if you are patient and willing to wait for the right car, but at the same time 08 RS is 100K. Too me it's a no brainer - get 3.8 car.

Fritz - don't sell the car, it's very cool!

you will be waiting until this time 2012. Lowest price points have been 120k for this year on 2010 RS.

110k is a year out for a driver with miles.

08RS @ 90-100k is 20-30k difference compared to 3.8L.

Let's not jump too far ahead

+1

We might see a dip to $110K-$115 for the higher milage ones this year once the 4.0 will gets delivered. Then, once that batch of used ones with low options and higher milage dries up, I think they will stay up in price intil the 991RS comes out.

Wow, that is a steal for a serious tracker. All the good stuff is done and the price simply cannot be beat. Someone needs to grab this offer ASAP.

I doubt I'll sell it anytime soon. I've had some calls but I'm not a motivated seller. Understandably buyers want pictures etc..... and I don't have time to clean the car and fool w/ it and won't until winter. Too busy spending my spare time fooling w/ the RX7s, going to the track and playing w/ my family which reminds me, Happy Fathers Day to all the dads

I think you are spot on with the 10 RS price if the miles are over 10k (rare car at this time) but 08s can be found for 90k or lower so the real price diff is 20k and IMO the .2 is 20k better if you can afford it. As mentioned before anyone paying 100k for a GT3 .1 RS is paying too much. The .2 GT3 is a better car, will still have warranty and will probably carry a higher resell price in the next 3 years or so.

It's really difficult to get a good handle on pricing for these cars because there are so few for sale and few that are sold. However the ones that are priced correctly usually sell within 3 or 4 weeks compared to the cars priced above the market price that live on ebay etc.... Some of these cars have been for sale for MONTHS and there's no excuse for them not selling other than they are priced out of the market. Sure there's a limited # of cars but I believe there's an even smaller # of buyers for this car and the more Porsche keeps rolling out newer models the more the die hard owners need to sell there older model to make room for the next one so when the 4.0 is delivered there will be some good deals on some 3.8 RS cars.

The orange RS on this forum w/ similar miles to my car just sold for 80k or less. Sure it was a good deal which is why it sold. You won't sell much of anything today unless it's priced well and smart patient buyers understand this because they've been watching the market for months seeing the same overpriced cars sit in someones garage or car dealers lot.

Finally for us track junkies there will also be some great deals on cup cars in the next couple of years because the race teams will be upgrading and again the secondary market for these cars is TINY.

TCS - I would disagree with you. Just like what you went through with your Orange car dropping the price 20K in 3 weeks to move it people who really want to sell their 10 models are doing the same. I've met a couple of folks at the track who mentioned those numbers regarding cars they recently purchased.

Trakcar - maybe, but high miles for these cars is 10-15K which a joke! I'll take those all day long

Good to hear Fritz - next time we're at VIR definitely need to get together and meet in person. For now I'll just keep putting around in my very slow 996 car.

The 20k price drop on my RS was due not only to mileage but mostly in part of the expired warranty and rear bumper insurance claim. It would have sold for 10% more and twice as fast otherwise. 90k.
For the limited amount of 2010RS in north America the lowest sales we have commonly seen have been 120k. There might have been a small slice for 115k but that is rare. Very rare. Now that we are in the peak of 2011 season the deal cars won't come along until the Fall. These will be the 115k.
The 2010RS will still have warranty in 2012 and the 4.0 is a white tiger that not may 3.8L owners will be able to locate for trade ups and will wait for 2013Gt3. So prices won't rock slide right away in 2012.

2013 will be the year of the deal train on all 997s.

The 110k price points will begin march 2012 however. For those who wish to sell.

If there were 2010RS for 110k this year, one would be in my driveway .

997.2 non RS will be as low as 90k this fall and 85k in 2012.

Expect to see 997.1 non RS in 2012 as low as 65k with 997.1RS as low as 75k.

The 996GT3 market will also be interesting to watch.

I've been in the market for a 997.1 GT3 or GT3 RS for the past two months now. And the price posted above is about right. I myself like the 997.1 better than the 997.2.
