I found I had knocked off one of my rear brake ducts on Gisele. So, I had my local dealer source the part and special order it for me. Today when I went in to pick it up, I couldn't help but notice it looked too small. They just happened to have an '11 GT3 RS on the show room floor, so I simply went over and got down on the floor to compare the parts (they are the same between the GT3 and the RS). I told the parts manager it was the wrong part. In reality it is much bigger.
So, he prints out the PET page showing the duct for the one he ordered. Then he went over to look at the RS and then back again to the PET. He prints out another page that shows the correct duct. But, the strange thing was, as I compared the two sheets, BOTH stated they were for a 2010 GT3. The PET is simply wrong, as it has extraneous parts.
The good news is that he'll have my (correct) brake duct tomorrow in time for racing this weekend.
This was by no means the first time this had happened to me. Be sure to question and confirm all your part orders!
