Thanks!

I'm not on the circulation side of the biz, but would recommend calling by phone. You're past the August 2011 issue shipment deadline, but you can get it shipped as a back issue via Priority Mail for an extra $10. That's $4 more than the newsstand price, but pretty cheap if convenience counts.

Yup if you're into Porsche and can read you just have to have it. I find myself going back and reading some of the older stuff that I missed out on the first time around. Especially if/when I get one of the older cars too or need to look something up. Great point of reference and of course these guys actually test, test, test... You can agree/disagree on the point of view but it's very much real which is so rare.

Keep up the great work fellas.

If not, there needs to be. Just sayin'
I agree, and don't mind you sayin' so.

Publisher is looking at it, as it has to make business sense, too. Took us quite awhile to do a proper website, however, so there's a good chance we'll move slowly and then do it our way.

No; on-sale date for August 2011 issue is 6/7.

After trying every manipulation with USPS we could come up with to prevent mailing delays to subscribers, we finally delayed the newsstand on-sale date (by a lot!) to make sure subscribers are served first. This is definitely a less-than-perfect solution for us, esp. in terms of being timely on the newsstand, but...too many subscribers were complaining about seeing the book on the stands before getting it at home. And we agreed with them.

Newsstand is becoming less and less important anyway. It's still a good place to be, but with one of the biggest national directs failing, it's getting harder and harder for consumers to find newsstands that carry niche publications. In fact, I'm not sure I could tell you where to find Exc here in Marin now that Borders is gone....

I can, however, walk over to Safeway (a supermarket) and get some pretty goofy car mags that are targeted at 12-16 year-olds. Hmm...maybe I am in the wrong game!

yo, you need to hook up with the DUBZ haha

it is easier to get excellence here in newsagents, than it was in san fran. borders on powell and the one in westfield were the only places i found.

Yep in quite a few locations around the Bay it's really annoying. My mum gets me Excellence still when she comes to visit from London every year. She always wants to bring me the European Mags which is great but since they sell it in the UK and it's easy to get, I also get an extra copy of Excellence! I noticed they've updated the site really well too

Ha ha... have been wanting to do an April's Fools track test on a donked-out bubble for a while now. Just need to figure out the right Porsche to compare it to. Oh wait...

Best spot to get Excellence in SF is Smoke Signals on Polk St. My old hood, and the guy who owns the place, which is a proper old-school newsstand, has a minty Renault Turbo 5. Books Inc on Chestnut has Exc, too, but you have to watch out for The Hermit (aka gt2-josh) down there...

Probably not, sadly. You're stuck in the 90000s with the rest of us Californians. Though the magazine is produced in 94949, it is shipped from back east and it just depends where the pallet ends up at the USPS distribution center.

Alright, I'm gonna try to get outta here. Have a great holiday weekend everyone...hope you find some time with those who matter to you!
