From my understanding is that the sequential gearbox that Gavin is putting in these cars still requires you to use the clutch on both up and down shifts. It's not exactly like the ALMS RSR cars where you can upshift with out pushing the clutch.
The idea with this sequential type of system is that you will not mess up and shift into the wrong gear.

It is a sequential shifter, not a sequential gearbox. It simply translate the up and down shifting movement into the H-pattern movement.. the actuator is connected to the stock gearbox, so you still have to use the clutch for heel 'n toe, etc. But it eliminates the possibility of shifting into the wrong gear (go from 5th to 2nd, for example..).

Mike, Yes Gavin does do some coaching when his schedule permits. PM me and for a small donation to my favorite Charty....my track fund......I will be happy to arrange it for you (does that make me HIS pimp?)
Spare Tire, The owner of the car did have an RS rollbar and 6 point harnesses on order, they just had not come in prior to the Sebring event. They will be installed in the car before Gavin drives it again. This time with with R6's on it. I can't wait to see how they affect the times!
