What is the date on the PBOC event? Is the DE sold out?

Chevrolet, GM, really needs to rethink the fit and finish of the vette! For a car with such power and performance, the fit and finish is no better than Lumina. Those "snap-on" interiors seem to rattle pretty good after a few thousand odd miles. Chevy needs to fasten everything inside with screws instead of those snappy things you can just force open. The only reason they use that method is it only takes a fraction of the time to put together. Have some damn pride America and do the job right.

And with high end Vettes at around 80-110... cheap interiors etc. are an insult. But the performance is there?

I've seen some good performance out of some Z06s. They had Hoosier R6 on them, I don't know if they had any performance upgrades or suspension but they were fast. It depends on the driver ability as well, can't compare since I haven't driven one.

Don't underestimate the Corvette so much. Sure, the quality is missing but the performance is good.

Well driven Z06 on Hoosier is faster than GT3 at Sebring.....

So when I point them buy I dont lift, they are lighter and have more horsepower.....and should easily get by me

For the record I dont lift for Vipers either

How reliable are these cars and engines for track duty? Its quite amazing that they deliver stellar performance for the price. Just wonder in what dept does Posrche edges these cars out.

I wouldn't say the Porsche "edges" the vette - Porsches just stir our souls more. Both are beasts on the track.

The 2009+ Z06's had the dry sump cavitation issue solved. Prior years could cavitate on high G turns and go boom. Other than that, pretty rock solid. Great cars but a little numb feedback wise and the interior does suck. If I were to own another one (had a 2008), I would swap in a set of Caravaggio seats. GM are morons for not offering a set of Recaros in these cars as a option. The seats are truly the worst in any sports car I've ever driven.

OP: I've heard fantastic things about the Carbon and have even considered one. Can't wait to see pictures. PS: I think I've already seen your car up on ebay at a healthy margin Enjoy!

I've been driving around 505hp Z06's for years -- what kind of GT3 is slower than a Z06?

Also, I trust your "don't lift" comment is paddock hyperbole and others should not take this seriously. If a driver gives a point-by and does't lift, they're asking for trouble and they've broken their promise to other DE participants to drive with safety as paramount.

Said in paddock hyperbole.....

I drive around many Z06 even ZR1

But I have seen some well prepped Z06, Viper, challenge cars exit turn 16 at Sebring at the same exit speed as me. If I dont lift more horsepower / less weight shows and they walk from a GT3
