Fun Day at the Track
Had a good time at Reno-Fernley today with the six other cars that bothered to show up for a "Test and Tune" day. A local multi-year class winner decided after FIFTEEN YEARS it was time to buy a new set of rain tires for his 240Z and we agreed he should send the old ones to the grave in fine style.
The drift angles were much more vivid in real life, but he and CarreraGT would enjoy sharing a track
Anyhow it was all good fun and I knew the plan and therefore keep behind to film the antics.
Obviously he has very good driving skills to manage these "tires of disaster"!
Anyhow, enjoy.
PS- the GT3RS is running superbly after the wintertime projects and the new Intrax 4-way coilovers. Amazing quality and value from the Intrax folks. Highly recommended for trackrats.
PS- Watch it on youtube in HD!

Weather was perfect and everybody was in a good mood. Another guy was there in a 650hp supercharged Lingenfelter Camaro. Holy Tire Smoke Batman!
He was driving safe and sane though and respecting the power. That thing sounded ferocious going down the straight! Woo-wee.
Glad you enjoyed! I was laughing my butt off at the antics. Could not believe he could even keep it on the track.
Here is an otherwise unimpeded lap:

That guy's having fun. The inevitable wipe out came at a merciful place on the track. And you, young man, might want to consider more time with your hands on the steering wheel and less of the high fives and thumbs up's ... it's an easy 100+ mph downhill there and a brick wall 20 feet away ... : )
Anyway, the thing that video reminds me about is the bloody Racekeeper! They need to fix the audio ... and the "HD" needs about twice as many lines of video ... they need to go to digital video ... those analog cameras just aren't doing it.
