They will probably try and get this out before the factory goes on holiday.
I think this whole run of cars will be done pretty quickly.
Thus not getting in the way of 991.

Perhaps Sept '11 delivery for the last 911GT?

The 'Black Edition' 911s are already rolling off the line as 2012 models.

Hmmmmmm. Allocation? I would be skeptical on that announcment. I have connections to the largest Porsche dealers in the Country. No allocation slots have been announced yet. No verification that these cars are even being produced. chances are thay will be, but no OFFICIAL statement. So, in the real world, no dealer can 100% say they have a slot. Champion, Newport Beach, Bevery Hills, etc. None have a slot yet.

The 4.0 will be produced from September 2011 until June 2012.
Nordschleife time 7.2x

Bandit - some dealers in Europe do have slots allocated, and some of them are currently looking for more.

Best, w

Thanks. That's reason enough to be circumspect. Perhaps "allocation" is the incorrect term. Should more info materialize I'll post it here.

I find this hard to impossible to believe. Why would PAG, de-streamline their assembly line to incorporate a low volume car? i.e., this is a 997 chassis and the 991 chassis will go into production shortly, no?

Ever since the first watercooled 911 (996), the first production year of a new generation has overlapped with the last model year of the previous generation.

1998 993 Carrera S made along with 1998 996 Carrera (Europe only)

2005 996 GT3 and Turbo S made along with 2005 997 Carrera (worldwide)

2012 997 GT3 4.0 made along with 2012 991 Carrera...

Thank you Wurlie. I guess if the Germans have a few slots, then we are hopefully closer to the same.

I think its pretty unlikely that the options list and pricing would be released before a press release from the company announcing the vehicle. i.e: its a fake.

Once, and only then, the factory releases a press release will the car, its specs and allocations be real.
