when they need wings, the drivers can sip on redbull....
not a great idea methinks. i once went out for a session after a can of redbull and was having palpitations
when i came to pit. never again, for me anyway. maybe if you're endurance racing, a little sip keeps you alert?

The stats are a little off. 200+ MPH for a Cup? I don't think so.

That spec page was mostly wrong. I think the whole video was mostly wrong, but as an advertisement for a dealership, above average. Strangely zero sales and marketing effort -- no call to action, no information to raise awareness, no incentive to generate demand. A simple "follow me on twitter to win free tickets to Porsche races" does wonders ... for the advertisers relying upon their sponsorship of these cars to be worthwhile advertising ... : )

It's common practise for some drivers from Asia to go all out with their whole racing facade, whether they are professional or amateur. The only reasons that I can think of are;
1) They are trying to attract new sponsors.
2) They need to for tax purposes as they are claiming sponsorship from their own company.
3) They just love the idea of being a professional racing car driver and this just adds to the show.

Is he even fast in any of those series?

Is he an A driver or B driver in he Asia Carrera Cup?

If he is racing with Leh Keen, the kid can drive!!

I tried to get some test times for the official testing day at Sepang in March and I couldn't find any.

I'm looking forward to seeing his progress this year in the series.

I'm not questioning the guy driving the Cup car -- he's clearly having fun and racing a Cup ... color me green with envy! But I wonder why the "promo" video and yet not really promoting anything. Maybe just a spur of the moment thing to store the race car off season. As for taxes, hell, if only that was the most expensive aspect of a race team. I hate to think what it costs to take a recent model Cup to the grid -- that's expensive motoring. Mooty's right to point out that for hardly more than the tire and team budget of a Cup car, you can put a street GT3 on the grid as a privateer and put down competitive lap times. (Though we all know Moot is not familiar with the word "budget" when it comes to his 911 habit.)

You know, in these teams, there's always someone paying the bills and sometimes he wants seat time, but I don't know, it's just usually the pro drivers don't carry that much form. So to speak.

As for the link to the AJR team interview quotes, it reminds me of ... cliche-riffic:
