Default 57 stage 1 over-revs- concern?

Looking at used '11 with 57 class 1 or stage 1 over-revs, none any higher.Think this is a concern or deal killer??? Car has 2K miles on it. I remember with my 996 GT3 I was religious with no revs near redline before 1k miles...

Car is fine! Someone just made an expedited mechanical run-in. : )

Not a deal breaker in my books.

I'd almost kill to find a car with 57 Type1s...I've found cars with thousands of type1s.

Stage 1 means the driver hit the rev limiter when accelerating. Nothing to worry about!

Go for it

Well if he followed Porsche's break-in then he should have less than 5(I'm being generous) Stage 1's at 2K miles.

Porsche break in procedure is BS... Most people say drive gently the first couple hundred miles to break it in and then drive normal.

Give me 2 hours at night with no cops or traffic, I'll do 57 Stage 1 over-revs

No big deal because they are only Range #1 (common), but ideally, in the first 2,000 miles the revs should not have exceeded 4,200. This prior owner exceed 8,000.

How many op. hours are on the motor? I'd bet less than 60-65. What was the most recent time stamp for the last Range #1 over-rev?

This may tell you a little too. For example, if very-very recent, maybe someone took her for a "joy ride". If very-very early, she got beat on during the break-in period.

No big deal, I'd be equally worried about zero over revs (Wiped).
Type 1 and Type 2 is fine. if you have thousands of overrevs, you have someone who chipped it or bounced of the rev limiter all the time. 57 ignitions is what, a second?

The readout says 57 ignition 1 over revs, then says 12.9 hour or something like that, whatever that means???

I don't see anything in what I got that tells WHEN the over revs were. I agree, I wouldn't want them at 150 miles etc.
All you needs is some lot jockey or salesman taking it for a joy ride with a friend...

Maybe not a big deal, but we are talking about a BIG investment here!

On another front- I found a 2010 with 5K miles and NO over-revs 1-6- that sounds suspicious- I mean, anyone with a car like that would take it to redline at least ONCE in 5K miles!! If somehow it was cleared wouldn't that show up at a Porsche dealer, especially if it was going to CPO'ed??

I thought the rev limiter was installed in lieu of a shift light
