Offset changes as wheel width changes...nothing new here but with tight clearances the wheel manufacture has to know what is going on. That is why I stick with a manufacture like CCW.

Wouldn't have said no to CCWs mdrums but as you probably realise, the 997.2 is almost gone and yet no wheels....

As for offsets, whats new is that when i asked the question in an earlier thread, nobody responded or knew their offsets or wat works up front on a gt3... I'm just sharing knowledge acquired the hard way for the next guy who comes along wanting to know whats gonna work rather than taking their wheel manufacturer's word for it....

Hey Lar, yeah like that... Thankfully i only rolled forward a meter before I got crazy sounds and stopped... Forgot to check the springs but the wheel was no longer anodised in a couple of spots- lets just say...

To change the topic slightly ...

Does anyone have any suggestions for eliminating rubbing (on the springs at about 3/4 to full lock) that I am getting at the front of my 997.1 GT3 using wheels with a fitment of 9x18 ET55? My workshop's proposed fix is putting 7mm spacers (plus, presumably, longer bolts) on the front hubs. They say dialling in more negative camber won't help. I can see that using spacers on the hubs will move the wheels farther away from the springs, but is there another solution?

- spacer and longer bolts / studs is your answer
- as a quick check, it will likely be borderline, take the 5mm spacer off your rear wheels, move them to the front and try with existing bolts
- 7mm or 10mm is likely what is needed with a little fender pull and you can fit some 275s upfront

Good suggestion, thanks. My rear wheels are 18x12 ET63 so I don't need the existing 5mm spacer on the rear hubs anyway.

I dont think a spacer is an option on a CL wheel!

I have 9"x19" HRE P40's and they present no issues on my car.

If unclear, my response was to the poster asking about a 997.mk1 without the 'advanced' center-locks.

Larry, what is the offset of your 19 x 9 HREs? Also are you using 235 or 245 tires?

HRE P40 CLs on my narrow body 2010 GT3

19x9 ET 54 (w/235 Corsas)
19x12 ET 61 (w/305 Corsas)

Once the Super Sport comes out in the 325 I will try the 245/325 setup.

Thanks, Larry. Getting close to pulling the trigger on a set, albeit in charcoal or brushed tinted finish. You think the 245/325 setup will be rub-free?

they are REALLY nice wheels you won't be disappointed

while I can't swear to them not rubbing I believe that since the RS fits the narrow body should also I don't think the dimensions of the wheel wells are that different.
