I agree it's a matter of the market at the time you step into the river. The first 997.2 (3.8) GT3 RS deliveries were being bought off the showroom over MSRP. Nothing like the feeding frenzy of the 3.6 RS with used/titled cars going $50K over or some changing hands advertised over $200K, but there was the initial "first kid on the block" action.

PTS for free is a good deal. I offered the same thing at the start of 2010 and got a polite "if only we had one more car to sell." Of course, white is a premium color on the GT2 RS, so I don't feel too silly about getting it "for free" on the GT3 RS. : )

White was big premium on GT3RS.1 and on GT3RS.2
On our GT3RS.2 was free.

If I was Porsche all GT cars whould be white with all the same decals like 996RS and CUP cars.
All other colors would be PTS, like 996RS and CUP cars.
