Default Wheels/Spacers/Questions

Looking at some 18" wheel options.

When shopping for wheels, what is the precise fitment needed front and rear?

I know there are factory spacers installed, but are they on the front as well as rear? And do they need to be removed to be used with aftermarket wheels?

I'd really prefer something that just bolts on without having to use different lug bolts etc.

Was considering a set of these forgeline wheels: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...ring-sale.html

I know that the GT3...i.e. narrow 997 fitment that ccw does you do not need to use the 5mm spacer on the rear of your GT3...however if you do not want to remove it...so simple with 2 screws in 10 seconds then that little skinny 5mm spacer will not matter if you leave it on. You will need the shorter lug bolts if you do remove the spacer.....me....I'd just leave it on and swap out the wheels.

Please correct me if I'm worng on this....

Randy: Do your CCW's just bolt up without having to mess with the spacers or lug bolts?

John can build them with allowance for spacer or no allowance

I had mine built with allowance for spacer so when I goto street tires it is an easy swap

CCW are custom cut.
they dont keep stock.
so if you ordred it, it will be no spacers. if you buy used, you can get them to work with most cars by using the right spacers.

But you can get CCW to cut them to work with factory spacers like Randy did, right? I don't want to over complicate the swap between track and street wheels.

What the offsets for the factory 19" wheels on a standard 997 GT3? Looking everywhere and can't find them.

Yes
Tell John what car u have and u WANT to run with what width spacer.

Offset is one the lip area of wheel and owners manual. Offset alone doesn't make wheel fit trust me. I'm looking at a set of wheels for a p car with oem offset NO fit.

Talk to a real WHEEL guy.

Dog, your rear spacer is only 5mm...weather you take it off or leave it on for DE's will not matter. 5mm doesn't make much on any difference in how the wheel will fit.

I agree. More concerned about the factory lug bolts getting enough bite with the spacer in place. Those forgeline Sebring specials are a good deal. Just concerned about fit.

The specs on the forgeline Sebring sale wheels are 18x9 +52 and 18x11.5 +65

Not sure about fit considering the factory rear is 12" with an ET 68.

I should probably just bite the bullet and let John build a set. Then I know it will fit.... My "frugality" is a serious illness
