With regards to cglock- why not just yank seatbelt til it locks then move seat forwards for a real tite fit? Mike

That's exactly what I do, and it's working fine.

At 6'6" with the seat all the way back, I recline the seat-back, lock the seat belt by yanking on it and while holding it locked I incline the seat-back until I'm firmly wedged into the seat. It's a very secure feeling on the track locked in like this.

My main issue with this, is that my left clavicle becomes very bruised from the seat strap by the end of an event.

My secondary issue... once in a while the strap unlocks while on track, if I don't get it "bruisingly" tight.... and I then feel like I'm going to fall out of my seat.....

I had the same problem with that trick.

this is best solution.

Which is why, after 4 seasons using this technique, I'm shopping track seats and 6 pt. straps before the 2011 season starts up here in Canada.

You need to toss the stock seats and get the factory seats with the cut-outs for the harness.

If you swap seats each time you track you will deal with airbag lights.

The factory seats with the cut-outs are comfortable to use all day and are not much harder to slide in and out of for entry/exit.

Get the seats.

Just like the 5 point belts u can get a shoulder pad to minimize that cutting feeling on the clavicle. Mike

Also, since you have to go aftermarket for sub bars on the Sports Buckets (Brey Krause) also note that Shroth has a 4pt harness as well, although you should check on rules compliance with the event organisers you plan to attend before selecting these.

See the thread in the racing forum on 4pt belts before considering it.

If u doing 4 point harnesses make sure they say ASM. I got pegged by NASA without ASM and had to buy a new set to run that day(wasn't my gt3 but my backup car). That was awhile ago so maybe rules have changed that u need a sub belt ie 5 point. But as others suggested ^go for a trackseat 5 point and a good rollcage and HANS. Mike

I was speaking to my dealer today and he said that Porsche actually has a wider version of the sport bucket seat. Has anyone else heard this? If so, how much wider are they?

1st I have heard of this, and not something visible in the car configurator ... Does it appear in the order guide?

I have no idea. I will be most likely be securing my allocation slot (and then waiting anywhere from 2-3 years) on saturday and will see if I can get an option code.
