Seems that there is some interest on NHTSA's part. When you guys respond to them, maybe ask if they would be interested in the info posted here... or point them to these threads?

Great info guys, I am taking my 02 Turbo in to the guys at Shark werks to get this fixed on my car. 35k coolant dump happened on the street. I filed a complaint with the NHTSA just now online.
It looks like only 10 complaints have been posted, we need to get more sent in, the fact that this is an issue on these cars is ridiculous. Porsche should be picking up the tab on the fix, this doesn't make them look good.

Was this fixed for the 2010 997.2 GT3 cars with a better epoxy, or should this still be a concern for 2010 models? I have to pull the motor for a clutch, so now is the time if I will do it. I see RPW has a kit that you can buy and have welded in place.

In your opinion has it been properly reported to the NHTSA? Or should a campaign to get people to report be done? With the E46 M3/S54 engine it was the effort of a few individuals who documented the failures that made the difference...

^ .2's haven't had the same reported problems as Porsche did increase the amount of surface area contact between the hoses and the epoxy on that gen. That said, the assembly method is the same and failures seem to occur over longer periods of time (years) with motors that have experienced more track time under higher operating temps. If you track your .2 many times per year it might be worth looking into but IMO you're wasting your $ and future resale. 996's and .1's however, not so much......
