As Carrera GT rightly points out - I'd be scared ****less to run on the track in a car without any side impact protection. Otherwise the car is great.
Best, w

Yes but before this weekend it was 2:30. So that is a ton of improvement.

Great meeting another cool R-Lister.
Sebring was a blast too. My first time there but I'm amazed at the amount of consumables you go through. Gas, Brakes, Tires. Early Sunday I cracked a front Rotor and was dead in the water until another R-Lister (Forged Mortorsports) gave me an old set to get me through the day.
There are great people in this sport!!

Looking forward to you guys hitting Road Atlanta.

jenk: I'm ready for the showdown, except you are coming too. Did you get an RS yet?

Very cool pics; thanks for posting. There are a handful of us in NC that want to try to do a RA DE this year. Please post up a thread when you guys decide on an event.

Man, I'm jealous of you guys!

It was the Chin event, right? Me and my cousin tried to enroll but was too late, the event was full... On top of that I spent the whole weekend at home since I was sick

Anyone coming to Homestead this weekend with HOD?

wow.. i love that white GT3 stripper!!!!!

Awesome and well done... I agree it does need some side protection bars.. should be easy to have some made to at least bolt in, but weld in would be better.

And unless there was something wrong with the donor car wouldn't that conversion (considering the now loss of value) cost as much as a rich mans cup?

Looks like a fun car, though.

Wow, that is stripped allright. Someone went off the deep end

I am going to come to road Atlanta to run with him this summer......trakcar....road trip?
I am thinking doing these events in May, leaving the car up north, maybe on the way back before we leave for California?
Date Track Group
May 6-7 Road America PCA Milwaukee Region
May 14-15 Autobahn CC Chicago Chin
May 27-29 Road America PCA Chicago Region

Just pulled the data. 2:22.04
Dave that is seriously fast for 996 and first time Sebring. Respect!

LOL, we are always amazed how long it all lasts at places like VIR and RATL :-) You don't understand untill you drive Sebring. Sebring kills.
We will see Cupcars bounce off the track next week at 48hours :-)

Such is the nature of the slippery slope. Just as Mobonic! : )

Anyway, operating costs on a Cup would still be an issue.

Dave I'm glad you liked Sebring. I think since I've started making that tow a few years ago. Everyone in our crew has made a trip down. Now it's time for all of us to go together. I haven't found an RS yet, just waiting patiently for one to pop up at the right price

Yes it's a soap coated 45º slope.... he probably started with what he had like me... and operating costs will be much less too.. this is a great compromise car...

I bet that car if set up right will be just as fast or faster than a 996 Cup
