Default GT3RS Pricing

I visited a local dealership this past weekend, and saw a very nice new 2011 white/red GT3RS and am extremely tempted to buy.

The dealership offered me a $10k discount (on a sticker in the low 150s). Is this a typical discount at this point, or should I be pushing for more? Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

Sounds about right, a lot of dealers still have cars priced in the 150's and whatever you can work down is up to each dealer. Used ones are as low as 120's

That sounds tempting - any suggestions on the best place/website to locate such cars?

Actually that's not so true, dealers prefer you finance, they get a kickback for buyers that finance.

Listening to "informed" buyers on the forums, $120k used RS's are coming out of the woodwork. That is until you actually start trying chase one down. Not saying it can't be done but from what I'm seeing that price is limited to a few trades where buyers got caught up in the hype going in and are doing the same in reverse on exit.

Here's the latest RS offerings on Cars.com:

http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchr...=50&slrTypeId=

Other sources: pca.org; porsche.com website; autotrader.com, etc.

$10k off plus whatever freebies you get thrown in on a new sale sounds attractive to me, but then I like my cars unmolested.

Best of luck with the search.

Are any of the used cars in the 120's? I just scanned around and didn't see any below mid 130's asking ... maybe changing hands at $130K? Total quantity on offer seems to be dwindling ... I guess dealers are just not bothering for winter? In December they were stacked up like taxis.

RAC just had one for sale on here.....they offered it to me for $118K I passed

I was offered one this past weekend, 2011, 2,000 miles, low option, gray, carerra gt seats, clubsport cage....$120k....was offered $107k on trade in by a dealer

Mooty's car......**** perfct kept....$120k

there is a superman coloried car with some options brand new in michigan with $150k sticker....asking $130K

I am sure I can find some more examples......how do I know.....every other day I convince myself to find someone to buy mine and get an RS. So if ther eis anyone out there that want's a very nicely spec'd 2007 GT3, mine is always for sale.

I think it will be the last of a very special car...I love the 997

Remember in the Porsche world options bring little to no resale, just a quicker buyer. So those of you with $170k sticker cars......and that paid sticker.......you just gave PCNA $50k. But you only live once

Basic new 2011 $135k.....dealer will discount so $125K....that is new un used

Was referring to walking in and doing a no-hassle purchase. I.e. informed, willing, and ABLE. Therefore to be in the driver's seat during the negotiations.

Yes, they might like to sell you some financing, but they should have to work for it.

Especially love that first "Aqua Blue" that isn't

Got to say though, that right there is my dream car... well except for what's in picture 2.

I just picked up a great used one with less then 1,000 miles for $119k out of SFO.
Everything I wanted too.....PCCB, Nav, etc....
That is cheaper then I bought a 997.1 GT3 3 years ago.
Times have changed.

You can remove/swop out John's red gauges. Man and he paid about $8k to have black decals and bits on that car - return on that - umm not much.
