Default About to Pull The Trigger on a 997.2 GT3

2010. Loaded, but early enough that it has no DEM (which I think I can cope with). 250 miles. $115k. Would be a daily driver.

I have a 996 Turbo S now. It's sublime. Love the torque.

Talk me out of it.

Torque is good, but nothing feels like GT3.
You won't regret is. Just get it.

Would never talk you out of it (I had a 6 TT also). Nothing like a NA engine at high revs, lightness, and feel of GT cars. Just be aware that you can get a used RS for a few thou more if you're patient.

I have not done it yet myself, but I'm pretty certain you can retrofit the DEM. The plug dongles are zip tied on the L/R side of the fenders near the factory mounts. This is on the "to do" list for me.

Oh yeah - DOOOO IT!!!!!

Yeah, I know I can get an RS, but I'm finding it very challenging to find sensible all-around tires for year-round use that fit the standard rims. And no, I don't want to be messing with changing the rims or tires just to accommodate rain. I want tires that work ok in the rain, like Corsas.

u will have same tire issues with non RS.

what year turbo S you got?
if it's pre 2005, it doesnt feel more torquey then 2010 gt3.

You'll love the GT3. I personally dont find it a suitable DD (but to eaches own). If you're in a 996TTS as a DD now, you'll probably be fine. I prefer a big quiet tank (GL550) on the commute

Why would I have tire issues? I can get PS2s for it. Easy, no?

My TTS is a 2005, and it's chipped. Quite torquey. I've driven a 2010 GT3, and while I love it, definitely not as torquey. I know I'll miss it.

Sure, why not?

They won't make those Mezger engines forever, you know. Wink!
