Yeah, no tires for 996TT ? Not recommended for us AWD to upsize our wheels to get to the 19's. Sounds like a really nice tire too.

This really sucks, now I have to get Pirelli's, but I really wanted to try the Michelins

+1..... for the casual weekend tracker the introduction of this tire may just mean that we don't need two sets of rims and tires as they are just as good as the cup sports... they will sell a ton of them if they come out in 18" sizing... I don't get why they don't offer 18" sizing for cars that need them...

They'll probably bring out 18's at a latter date. They are concentrating on the 19's now because they need to secure the manufacturers business first. They are their biggest customers.

good point!

if they are truly as good as the cup sports and usable on a daily basis the other tire companies should have a lot to worry about! I know so many people that refuse to run any other tire on their street car except for michelins.

That is exactly the plan, the initial sizes released will be in 19" to satisy the manufacturers demand which is for that dimension, I believe that there will be over 65 sizes available within the year.

I was very impressed with them in Dubai ... I think they could be pretty close to MPSC performance... But only a side by side will tell.

Did anyone manage to read this press release without falling into an oxygen deprivation coma? The run-on sentences last about three minutes! Can't they put one point in one sentence? Sheesh.

Anyway, no rear fitment in 19's for a 911, so it's useless. I'll try 'em when there's a 345/19. Or when Porsche sells a 20 inch wheel on a 911. Please let that day never come.

No but I would anticipate somewhere in the PS2 & MPSC ballpark.

AFAIK the 911 sizes will come later as the homologation occurs for the N spec ... Probably not until end of the year though...

Grab a cup of coffee or a beer and check out Michelin's site on the tire. There's lots of new technology in this tire you guys need to see. It's full of great animations and videos explaining the advances in the new tire. I'm really excited to see these hit the streets. This tire really does look to be a great leap forward.

And for what it's worth, I personally IMPLORED with the Michelin guys directly responsible for the release of this tire when they were here to not turn their backs on any relevant Porsche sizes. Let's hope they listen. There will be more sizes released as they move forward.

Just ordered a set of SS's from Damon mounted on the Ultraleggera graphite wheel set. Can't wait to see how they perform.
