Default Tire choices for track work in a 997.2 GT3 RS

I'm getting close to ditching my Turbos (03 and 09) for a 997.2 GT3 RS that would see a lot of track duty. I'm curious as to what tires people are running on these cars at the track? The OEM tire at $2200 a set is just too much for me. I am used to ~$1200-1300 for Sport Cups/18" on my 03 Turbo.

I am planning to buy a second set of wheels for track duty. Does an 18" open more possibilities for tires? I'd be happy to run R6's, Sport Cups, etc. There's an R6 fitment for the rear in 19" but no front. There's an R6 fitment for the front in 18" but I didn't find a good match for the rear. Damn these cars and their wider track

Would love any advice from other track rats. If I can't avoid paying $2200 for a set of tires, I'd probably reconsider the car. I buy a set of tires almost every month during track season for my Turbo...

$1000.00 a set for Toyo RA1's that are 3 years old, but unused can still be found 245/40/18 and 335/30/18. Next up is R6 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 for around $1400.00

Thanks for the table, that's very helpful.

No rubbing with a 275 R6 up front?

R6 255 and R6 275 are actually both the same width and the diameter matches OEM better:
46830 P255/40ZR18 E 9.8" 26.2" 82.1" 8.5-10" 9.0" 10.6" X
46832 P255/35ZR18 E 10.3" 24.8" 77.8" 8.5-10" 9.0" 10.8" X X
46836 P275/35ZR18 E 10.3" 25.5" 80.2" 9-11" 9.5" 10.9" X X

The 345/45/18 also fits and matches the OEM very nicely.

I had 255/40/18 and 335/35/18 that does not match as well and no ABS problems. There was enough room left with -2.5 Camber all around and that is what the Hoosiers seemed to like.
Now I run the Toyo's 245/40/18 and 335/30/18, also a less perfect match, but no ABS problems either.

Maybe a tiny bit of rubbing against the wheel well liner, if the car is lowered, but not on OEM ride height. Even if rubbing a good shop can heat up and push the liner in a bit where needed.

No, but I know 245 and 305 Toyo's RA1 fit.
Mooty posted it somewhere.
