ps. A broken clock is right at least once per day, perhaps twice. Except a Rolex, which is just plain continuously wrong ... all the time.

I appreciate the original post as I have not experienced the "joy" of centerlocks
is the perceived cl pain in the butt as bad as it reads on RL?
they sound like a hassle

In any case, it doesn't take long to see that this forum at RL, like most here, is for Porsche owners to twitter on about anything and everything. Watches. Tow vehicles. You name it.

Grease the o-rings
Perhaps it is overkill, but each center caps has a rubber o-ring the helps create a seal once it is installed on the center lock bolt. A little dab of petroleum jelly on the o-ring and subsequent installation and removal of the center caps were much easier. Time will tell if greasing them will prove a bad idea if they take flight at speed (so far they are 155mph safe).

PS what's up with the watches?? Never had a watch, then again I never had a job either..

Brought my car in to Champion this week and they advised the same and put one of those bolts to make sure it locks in my glove box as well. Now I just have to go find one of these centercap pryer thingies, even with my Lowes paintcan remover tools, I've bent all of them but they seem to stay in place and appearantly their only function is to keep the dirt out..

I'm glad to hear Champion uses similar methods. I actually pulled the petroleum jelly out to treat the center lock bolt. I seem to recall that Porsche use to recommend applying a thin layer of PJ on clean wheels to "treat" them. I figured employing the same approach on the CL bolt and wheel hub (both aluminum??) wouldn't hurt. I simply rubbed it in and wiped away the excess and was careful to avoid getting any grease on the chamfered edge. Yes I'm ****.
As to the watches, I think OCD takes shape in many forms as evidence by those here that like them. But I think mooty waxed sage advice when he said to stay away from them.
