Default 997 GT2 Tire Choices

I know this is likely not a new subject but searching has not yielded any good discussions. Obviously the OE tire on the GT2 has it's positives and negatives being a competition tire. I am curious if anyone has ventured to tires other than the cups/corsas and what their experience has been?

There does not seem to be a lot of choices for matching front and rears in stock sizes.

Thanks,

Marcus

I was in the same position as you were, i went with RE-11. They dont have the rear 325/30/19 size the largest is 305/30/19 which is gt3/turbo size and the speed rating is only for 270 kph. I hesitated to have them but i read a lot of good reviews about them and i guess also TPC used them for their 997GT2 on the track.

I've got about 1000km (600m) on them still not enough to judge them but right now i'm satisfied with traction issues. I'll let you know as the mileage increase and comment on handling and more on traction.

You can also check Toyo R888 read good reviews also, might try them if RE-11 werent good. Dont get me wrong i do love the MPSC a lot but cant justify the price/mileage 6-7k miles.

I hope this my help.
