Did you ever see the price of a particular item decrease during its lifetime? Gas will never be below $1. Our pcars will always be more expensive than the prior model. I'm guessing $140-145k base price, plus options will be averaging $160-170k

sub 150 for a 4.2L RS spyder inspired mid engine V8 is not bad.

New Cafe standards should kick in by then. Hopefully the Republicans will be back in power or otherwise we will be f*cked with a 40 mpg mandate. If under Republican control, a 450-480 4.0L version of the DI 9A motor. The death of the GT1 block is eminent. If Democrats, a 300 hp 3.0L flat 6 or turbo 2.0L flat 4...if we are lucky.

I personally hope that Porsche will continue the homologation "theme" of the GT3s, tracking the Cup/RSR car development ...

therefore I should anticipate a 480bhp 4.0L engine (metzger) from the RSR, with a 6 speed box, in a 991 "GT3" ized body, hopefully no heavier than the current generation of cars, but again extracting technology from both race and GT2(RS) technology as they did with the current generation ...

I dont see the engine changing from the GT1 derived block until such time as they race an 9A1 based engine in cup/RSR form ... and given remarks that Andreas Preuninger has made I doubt we will see PDK (even as an option which I would sincerely hope it would be) ...

the alternatives are too horrible to consider ... and would imply that the current cars would be the last of the "real" GT3s ... by me at least!

Don't understand the constant desire of folks on RL to inject political sentiments into the discussion (even offensive BS on avatars), & when doing so more often than not some right-wing fear-based statement that has no basis in fact. You guys gotta stop watching so much Fox "news" & listening to bloviating fat white guys spewing vitriolic nonsense.

Back OT, hopefully the next GT3/RS is gunna have a normally aspirated dry-sumped flat-6 or V-8 (similar to RUF's RGT8) with Mezger inspiration, lighter overall than the current spec, & definitely will have manual available w/ perhaps a PDK option.

I have to agree with you ... such political references are simply nonsense ...

hell if my choice is the republicans and a 450+ GT3 and a war with Iran or a 3.0L engine with the democrats then I will take the lower powered car and some intelligent adults in charge ...

there the karmic balance of this thread is partially restored for now ...

p.s
I dont want an A91 DFI engine in my GT3 ... unless and until they have campaigned such in a race car ... regardless of who is in power at the time ...

3.9 or 4.0 liter GT1/Mezger engine with 475-500 hp and 8700 RPM redline mated to a 6sp manual (no PDK option)

Weight no more than 100 lbs. greater than today, but probably basically the same

More aggressive aero
