Default TPM Issues with Wheel swap.

I have two sets of wheels for my 2011 GT3 RS. I just put the second set of wheels on the car with fresh tires for my upcoming weekend at WGI. The TPM won't sync. I tried setting it on summer tires and even switched back and forth between summer and winter to see if I could get some type of sync.

1) I set the tire type in the TPM menu to Summer
2) System says process complete
3) Tire indicator lights up in speedo and flashes for about 1 minute. Display says TPM in learning mode Pressure monitoring inactive.
4) After a minute tire symbol stays lit steady.
5) A couple of minutes later, the TPM learning message disappears, and a red exclamation (see message screen) lights up with the tire symbol still steady.
6) The display now reads TPM inactive. Message screen also says the same thing.

I put over fifty miles on the car after setting up learn mode the first time. I also tried it six additional times. It just won't see the sensors.

The sensors are brand new and the correct part number.

Dealer couldn't help over the phone. Any ideas?

I did the same recently. Everybody said the dealer would have to activate the sensors with a special tool. But I simply reset them like you did, and they worked just fine. I also bought my sensors from the dealer. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Not sure if your dealer used your VIN number when giving you your sensors but I have looked into this the past couple of weeks in my quest to organise a set of wheels and it seems there are 2 different sensors fitted to the gt3s/RSs... One runs at 315MHz and the other at 433MHz from memory. They are fitted randomly to the vehicles on the production line depending on what is available on the day (similar to tyres) and the details are recorded with car's VIN. The most common frequency used apparently is the 433Mhz one. If your dealer didn't ask for your VIN and sold you sensors off their parts catalog by assuming which is fitted, this may be your problem....

I use these with no problems. After changing wheels, give the system about 20 miles to learn the new sendors.

Thanks for the reply. The dealer installed the wrong sensors. New, correct sensors installed and everything comes up as expected.
