Default Smartycam-brake function work in '10 GT3?

does the '10 GT3 ECU support brake function with smartycam?
met someone recently with an '09 cayman and said his does not.
i've researched plenty but can't confirm if different for '10 GT3.

TIA!

It works on a '10 GT3--at least with a CANBUS ECU bridge. IIRC the channel you want to map to is BRAKE_SW which is unfortunately binary...

thanks, CRex!
sorry for not being technically literate; what is the practical effect of that channel being binary?

It's just less informative--just like the brake lights they're either on or off. The throttle channel on the other hand gives you a whole range of 0-100%.

In other words you won't get to see how "hard" you're braking on the captured video. That will require a whole bunch of additional hardware which I'm not prepared to buy

ahhhh-- hence, binary. that's very good to know!
i guess if one is doing hard threshold braking all the time, should be ok
thanks very much!

The catch is, not all of these channels can be displayed on the smartycam video interface. To take advantage of channels such as steering angle or oil pressure you need a datalogger. I'm sure this is something that can be fixed via future firmware upgrades, but given AIM's glacial pace of development it'll be a long while...
