Thanks Brian :cheers:

Diameter please? 380mm? Oh- Front and rear if different?

F = 380mm min thickness 33.7 mm

R = 350 mm min thickness 27.7 mm

Note: mim thickness could vary car to car. These are my #'s

Please post any sources that you find. I'm looking for replacements front/rear rotors as well.

I heard stop tech is working on an aftermarket ceramic option... is this what you are thinking? probably not... as this is not top secret

The Baron 08-03-2010 11:18 PM

If StopTech comes out with a Ceramic alternative to PCCB, it will be flawless !

I've had the pleasure of working with the guys at StopTech for five years at the track and they were a large part of my Championships.

They (S.R. in particular) are fanatics about R&D and attention to detail.

Any ETA on when StopTech will be releasing their ceramic rotors?

P.J.S. 08-03-2010 11:36 PM

I think I heard it on an Adam corolla car cast podcast with christini from ST as the guest...

it did not sound imminent at the time I heard it..

brembo type III - and done... not ceramic but amazing - just put them on my .1 RS as pccb replacements (380 front 350 rear)

The stock Red steels are pretty amazing too...but emits a crap load of dust. The dust alone is reason for me to switch...

P.J.S. 08-03-2010 11:42 PM

stock reds are drilled and drilled means cracks and frequent replacement

you are right on the dust though

Stoptech is not yet close to a ceramic solution.

I have been in contact with MovIt who has developed a very interesting ceramic rotor which sounds in their literature to be technologically superior to OE PCCB in every way. Also pre-bedded pads(!).

As soon as I receive full information (hopefully by tomorrow AM) I will update this thread.
