For the track, why don't you just use Toyo R888 or RA1? Much much better than the RE11 and better than the MPSC too.

For a street tire the RE11 is a great tire.

I am driving hard on the track and am not willing to give on the performance of MPSC, but definitely wanted to explore other options at the performance level of MPSC, but away from the price. I will look into Toyo R888 and RA1's. The Toyo R888's look great. What do they run?

in 18s they are about the same as a set of R6 Hoosiers

I bought my last set of R888 at www.bobwoodmantires.com which has pricing on line...

I was told today that front tire sizes for 19 inch (by a carerra S driver) are on national back order.... he was checking with a large regional chain store though...

AVOID R888 like a plauge.
RA1 would work well so does Nitto NT-01

I've run the re11's on the track, they are just ok, have a short window of stickiness then are shot. All they are is inexpensive, heavy street tires that do ok on the track. Some early ones aren't even load rated for our cars. I would save your coins and go with some N rated cups for DEs.
Been there, done that, got the t shirt.

I agree but RA1 in the sizes I need are no longer available and the ones left over are 3+ years old (probably ok for DE) and now super expensive.

NT-01 do not come in the sizes I need either...so....that leaves me with R888.

I use 245-40-18 front and 305-35-18 rear. This puts me right at the same overal dimention as the stock 235-35-19 and 295-30-19. I can not find any other R-Comp tire in these sizes.

Seems to keep ABS and PSM happy this way.

Any advice?

I felt very different about the RE-11. I felt they were at least equal to the MPSC's. They are heavier but seemed to add some "bite" to the front end under braking. And at almost 2 for 1 how can one lose?

I run RE-11 on my car, and I switched from PZero Rosso. Big difference! The car is definitely handling much better! The price is great on the tires as well.

The only problem is that they tend to heat up pretty quick... I see the pressure go up 10psi in a 20 min session when pushed hard!
