I would love a better stereo in the GT3. Not enough to spend money - I spent thousands on the home 2ch setup - but still.

For those of us that live in areas where the avg speed is about 30 mph, a real stereo would be nice when tooling around town. The GT3 engine doesn't have much of a howl at 2k rpm
I don't see why we can't have both.... I don't remember the name of the brand, but a friend of mine owns Ultimate Audio in Orlando and showed me some 3 way separates that fit in the stock locations. The bass was amazing for a 6.5" speaker. Even at my cost I was looking at an easy 3k for the speakers, amp, and install. And that was just front speakers.

Bringing this Thread back to life....
I just put in the same set of Speakers as the OP.
Focal PS165 Front set up only. (15lbs) No Speakers in the rear also no Point based their location and location of engine.
JL Audio XD200/2 AMP (6lbs) Fits right in the front compartment tucked away.
iPod/iPhone Jack tied directly into antenna since these cars have no other way to add a Jack (Not FM Tuner).
Net Weight increase
+~15lbs max
Net Sound increase +1,000
I'm SHOCKED at how effing good this thing sounds!
No new holes, would never know it was there until you turn up the volume. All in w/ install $1,100. Definitely recommend.

I nearly put in the $800 aux adapter for the sound-plus system installed in this RS before I bought it....then I rode in the car. You can't hear the radio. Headphones seem like a better option.

You can hear it over WOT.

Is it wrong to strip out all the carpet, do a side exhaust delete, install a 6 cupcar shifter cable, but install better speakers and an Amp with an Iphone connection so I can enjoy the tunes while lapping and multitasking the Harry's Lap timer? (I have a solo DL as backup but just using the Iphone 5 would look save weight)
I'm serious is it wrong?
If it is I will tell the shop to re-install the carpets they just ripped out.
