Default Special tool to balance CLs?

I finally was able to get Michelin Cup tires for my '10 RS. They are to go on my new HRE centerlock wheels. Since I had to go through the dealer to buy the tires (very limited quantities were flown into the US), and I bought tire pressure sensors from them, I figure I have them mount the tires and install the sensors. But the service guy tells me they cannot because they are missing a special tool for the balancing machine to properly balance the tires. Has anyone heard of such a "special tool"? I will get the tires mounted elsewhere, but I am just curious what the hell this special tool could be.

Probably a hub adapter of some kind Al. I had a similar problem with Tire Van once. The driver forgot to bring a specialty hub adapter for wider wheels.

Al - Was this HBL? I just got a rear flat today and need a new tire and was planning on taking it there. I'm usually not a sucker for dealer addons, but I bought the tire/wheel insurance. It cost about as much as a rear tire, so figured I'd get at least one flat in the next 5 years ...looks like it just paid for itself

I had the same problem, a hub adaptor is needed to fit the centerlocks. Without is it is impossible to get a good balance. Dealer should be able to order one easily and quickly.

Yes, it was HBL. Yeah, I should have bought the wheel/tire insurance. I always do, but I was in a rush when picking up the RS.

Ok, so that must be it. Come to think of it, when I had my rear patched at an independent shop after I picked up a small nail, they did not re-balance the tire because they mounted the tire in the exact position. So this issue did not come up. The service guy said they ordered the part but have no way of telling when they would come in. Poor planning. It's not like they never had a GT3 in there.
