Default GT3 Devotion: My Driveway Ramp Solution

Picked up my new GT3 a few weeks ago. Imagine my surprise to discover I could *not* get my new car into the garage because of a dip in my driveway. Boy, was I miffed . I never had any issues with my lowered 993TT or my 997 C2S, so it never even dawned on me to check the clearance . Well, I made myself feel better by thinking this would not have stopped me from getting the car anyway. Nevertheless, the GT3 was banished to the outside driveway for a few days. Then for a few weeks I made do with a couple of 2*12 planks and a couple of Race Ramps. Now, I am using a pair of aluminum ramps custom made by Discount Ramps for a very reasonable price. Longer term I'll regrade the area, but that's a project for another day. What we won't go through for our passion for these cars!

Just pull up the driveway tiles, drop in an iron drain pipe, compact added base and level with sand, then hammer the tiles back in place. Weekend diy.

Yes, I will eventually redo the pavers for a permanent fix to the driveway.

I have same problem, but the problem with with the street. So I can't do that. I have, however, getting better at taking an incredibly sharp angle. 2 wheels come off the ground every time. (You should see the looks from passersby.) I'd say about 60% of the time, I scrape, but it's not enough to do serious damage. I'm more concerned about the noise.

At some point, I'll get someone to fix the street to smooth it out.

That looks like a perfect place for a slotted drain!! Raise everything up and not have to worry about the water getting in the garage!!

That one's even easier to fix. There's a thing called "self-leveling" concrete that's ideal for quick forms like that.

I also have a similar issue getting my car out of my driveway and on the street. to protect the bottom of your splitter even more (for when it does scrape) PepBoys sells door trim in black (StyleGuard Door Edge Moulding)or this stuff(http://www.brandsport.com/trimgard1.html)that has the perfect shape to adhere to the bottom edge of the splitter. The finished look does not detract at all and adds another layer of protection.

Great ideas from everyone... thanks! Snowboarder's channel drain is one I've considered. Problem is you guys all have me thinking about home improvements now and I have plenty of those stacked up. How about a repaving party at Ken's place. J/K.

Dont have to change the driveway dont have to buy a II.
Fit cargraphic front axle airlift and go challenge cayennes in off road trial competition.
First day I fitted mine was the day I saw the interior of my garaze for the first time.
A day to remember..

John

ps. I admit the cayenne example is a little bit too much but I was trying to make a point.
