Actually, this comment got me thinking that there could be a simple answer to all this hype.
Why don't you just take a photo of the redline indicator on the dash?

i'll take photos of everything. no problems. i think maybe this manager was heard the german engineer wrong. they are built to 5-9% over stated crank hp which could easily arrive at the number he mentioned.

Surely if this was correct then the Rev counter wouldn't look like this.

Clearly there are no significant changes expected to the 2011 GT3 RS engine, but for future models it is worth keeping in mind that the 2008 GT3 RSR had a red-line of 9,400rpm...

P.51 from the latest Excellence ( June ) mag: "Like the Gt2, the RS come with a titanium muffler.....weighing just 11.2lbs. against the 20.2 lbs stainless steel GT3 unit, its internal bypass flaps cut the secondary silencers out of the loop to enhance midrange torque. The reduced back-pressure adds an extra 26 lb-ft of torque from 1500-4000 rpm, even though the peak torque of 317 lb-ft at 6750 rpm is unaffected." Please, don't complain about the extra noise!
