What is the maximum temperature you are seeing at the exhaust tips? We are looking at some composite material for exhaust systems (including, and this would not be cheap, mufflers and closer to the head) that, while not as good looking as these titanium pieces , would sure be lighter and, as such, might be more "sexy" (which, to me, = weight).

P.S. The reason I ask about temp is that material that will take, e.g., 650 C (1202 F), is less expensive than material that will cope with 1250 C (2282 F).

P.P.S. Depending on the alloy of titanium used, titanium oxidizes at something between 550 C and 800 C and, as this process continues, begins to weaken and eventually crack and/or break which is why, series production manufacturers (e.g., Porsche), are most reluctant to use it in other than muffler and tail pipe applications as temperature therein are less than at the head.

Hey Robert... 1200 is fine depending on where you're measuring tho The measurements we took during tuning with the 3.9 were EGT's further up obviously and not at the tail pipe.

Default "I got ti tips ... they are multiplying ... and I am losing control"

Apologies John Travolta ...

I couldn't wait ...

I know ... I know ... why don't I do the job properly and install the tips at the same time as my new bypass ...

because one job takes 3 hours and the other 20-30 minutes (depending if you have the right tools, or the ones I have ....)

Before/After ... sorry about the camera shake!

+1, they looked so good I installed mine yesterday, despite the fact I still have the bypass sitting in a box awaiting install...
