In my opinion it means that the GT3 has a very efficient powertrain and it doesn't lose as much power as other brands at the wheels.

The F430 loses plenty of power in the drivetrain and the Gallardo loses even more.

Power to the wheels is what matters, that's what moves the car regardless of manufacturer's claims at the crank. The GT3 does a good job of getting power to the ground.

The 04 Gallardo 5.0 V10 (rated at 500Hp) puts less power to the wheels than the 2010 GT3.

I believe Porsche states the GT3 has an 8%-10% drivetrain loss. Most tuners and owners, I've heard say, its really 12%-15%; probably for "crank bragging rights"
I agree that all that matters is WHP.

As far as the 04 Gallardo, don't AWD cars have an average of 20%-25% drivetrain loss?

Thanks for the clarification. It makes sense. And I believe that manufacturers should publish the power to the wheels figures, because of what you said: it's what moves the car.
