Yep -- that's one of Porsche's final GT3 RS test cars!

Here are a couple of other pics of the GT3 RS in Black for comparison...

...thanks to Chris Harris at Evo!

It took me a while to pick my favorite color combo, but I have to go with the grey/red combo with decals. Yes, red wheels take some getting used to, but for this model, it works. I also like the decals - tells the world you have something special.

Beautiful cars - congratulations to All you own one or soon will own one.

for me, the white/gold is the best. subtle nod back to the early rsr model. white/red is 2nd, but has been done before with the 6 rs.

The white/red is more of a nod to the early models. Way before the 6 RS .

That's an RS, not RSR. I don't know if there was ever an RSR with grey/gold on white livery. Maybe. There's really nothing as a de facto factory livery from that era. I guess it was all based on the sponsor du jour.

As for that pic, it reminds me (torments me!) of a car I turned down. RS Lightweight. One owner in Germany and France. Imported by one owner in the US in California in the 70's. Ample but incomplete paperwork of a seller clearly not trying to "market" the car. CA reg was years out of date, but DMV said the VIN was kosher. I'd not gotten to the point of getting a CofA and this all transpired in the space of two weeks and about 100 hours of intense activity on my part. This was 1999-2000 just as I retired and started looking in earnest to get a '73 S, but prices had started to move up and I was set on getting "a great S" ... idiot. Anyway, they were asking a (then) ambitious $125K and the seller was helpful, but had no answers and no real knowledge. That price quickly became a middle-of-the-market number as I looked further and further up the price ladder (going from "great" examples of an S at $20K to mediocre examples of RS Touring cars in Aubergine at $80K to available listings of US located RS Lightweights at $150K.) Then the seller's advertisement in some rag or other (DuPoint Registry, I seem to recall) hit the streets and some a$$hole dealer swooped in, convinced the buyer the car was an unsalable rust bucket that would require months or years in the market to find a collector enthusiast to begrudgingly take on this money pit. Parasite. Sadly, the owner didn't even call, they just took payment over the phone and turned the page. I spent a week or two trying to help them understand their own car only to have them throw it out on the curb like an old washing machine. If anything, I expected them to become more convinced they had a great car once they did the background work, not likely to take a low ball from a scum bag.

Well, my own fault. I was entirely set to buy the car and didn't even contemplate knocking down the price. They'd done enough of their own homework to pick a fair and even generous number. Had I known better, I would have acted swiftly. I just wanted to be sure it was all the car it was stacked up to be. I wish they'd called, but my fault for not calling them and pulling the trigger. So it goes. And it's not the money, it was the opportunity squandered that stings.

How about a page from the new book. How about black/white-gold with no fender graphics or checkered strips since it is a regular order color combination for a 997.2 GT2 RS:

I saw that too and liked it. The only combination that I did like on the 2.RS, since it covers up that boy racer carbon hood and accents.
I actually think Porsche has done a decent job trying to remember the past without living there, but those jellybean colors from the 70s are still some of my favorites.
