I took a couple measurements of the wheel rim, here are the pictures. I also used seam to measure the wheel rim circumference at the 7-8 o'clock position, the measurement is 4 inch (10cm)

thanks I will make similar measurements etc and post ...
Just an honest question not a 'smart aleck' statement: I heard that thicker padded wheels filter out steering info. Can you comment?
The diameter of the wheel effects "feel" ... smaller wheels have less feel. I have not heard of the thickness of the steering wheel rim being related to feel or "touch."
I think we're teetering on the brink of a "size matters" thread, but I'll say that I have a hand that doesn't fit in a typical 2XL glove. I'm not saying I could necessarily "push down on all three pedals at once" but I would say the thickness of the wheel rim is not worth $1000+ to adjust.
Ive got a number of vendors working to locate the p/n for the MY'11 "black" CPA wheel ... once we've located it U'll update with info ...
I've got a p/n from the parts department today. The parts guy said the description of the part is optional steering wheel for the 2010 GT3 RS. There was no information on if it is the thicker alcantara wheel. Anyway, here is the p/n.
For $400 you could send it to Dallas Steering Wheel and have Don fatten and recover and put the band at the top. First class work and customer service.
