i actually scrap the lip going in/out of my driveway. you know back in the 80's big american sedans have "curb feelers". well, the current "curb feelers" are the chin spoilers.

but i'm a GT3 owner at heart - with carseats , and PDK
With PDK and ceramics, the S is the quicker car in the hands of 90% of amateurs. : )

Don't worry about the driveway, you definitely can have the 997.2 GT3/GT3RS.

I had a 997.1S and now a 997.2 GT3 (with lift.) There were driveways that my 997.1S would lightly scrape the front, yet the 997.2 GT3 (with lift up) could pass without scraping at all.

I am amazed everyday about how that little 30mm of lift can make all the difference.

I was at the dealer yesterday talking to the tech. He told me that he was also impressed by how Porsche makes the 997.2 GT3/GT3RS ride comfortably on the road without sacrificing the handling.

With best regards,

thats what the plastic front splitter is for. get a 3 and listen to the scrapes for 3 seconds, then listen to the engine all day

boy, would it be hard to get a GT3 from dragging there, even with the lift kit...

however, with the sport buckets, sports PASM, PCCB and the back seats for the kids, i've got a great ride here
Are you aware that GT3s have adjustable coilovers and front end lift? You can adjust the ride height up and get another 1.2" of lift from hydraulics. Yes, GT3 front lips are disposable (about $200 a piece); but they are easy to replace in about 10 minutes. If you scrape one up, you can also sand them down and re-paint them. You can also install rubber curb ramps on your driveway threshold (I did) to give yourself some extra clearance. Hence, I don't see you having a valid point for making a compromise.

we all agree the GT3 is a great car and i swear - i'd have one if i could get it in my garage. the issue is not that the nose would rub - with the lift kit - but that it would snap off. the picture i put here at the front of the driveway is the easy part.

once i take the plunge and buy additional garage space (i'm avoiding that like trying heroin), then i'll be all set, with our without a front lift. my house is 100 yrs old, cut into a hillside...

of course i love the encouragement

Sell the boat and bring plenty of beer when you go on a friend's boat.

that does it. i'm going to buy a timeshare portion of PJ's new GT3 RS. problem solved. i'll probably have to sell the boat to do that, but i'll have to succumb to the peer pressure (that i brought on myself)

PJ - i am soooo insured

That is how it works... I sold my boat and Sea Doo's 4 years ago because we stopped using it w/ the kids.. Bought a P-Car.
On the boat I had a little sign on that said.
"This Boat Runs On Gas, NOT Thank You.."
My buddies would just bring beer, and girls when I was single, which was OK..

Love it! Did you spec it?
