Default 997 GT3 RS CARBON FIBRE REAR SPOILER REMOVAL

Hi,

My car a 997 GT3 RS in Flat Black with orange decals is off next week to have paint correction and also a full detail....

The detailer wishes to have the Carbon Fibre rear spoiler to be removed as part of the process so he can gain full access to the underside, around the air duct/ram intake, this part of the car has the most swirl marks..obviously as the access is terrible.....

Can anyone give me details/step by step on how to remove the Carbon Fibre spoiler only??

Also the car has been subject to a few upgrades the last few weeks including the following

Europipe sports exhaust
BMC air filter
Carbon fibre front/rad vent
cup splitter
all red tail light
centre console painted in exterior colour
carbon fibre front RS splitter - lasted about 2 days, ripped off and now garaged

Has anyone fitted cup induction kit or similar?
see below http://www.oakleydesign.eu/engine-tuning

Thank you in advance.

There are 4 rubber plugs (2 on each support) on the supports for the wing. Remove them. Remove the torx screws hidden by the plugs and you can pull off the wing.

Someone on 6speed had this done with the cup wing. Synergy racing did the install and had to move the MAF. Obviously, the cooling fan is no longer present which may be a problem. I don't know what tuning was done to account for the increased airflow.

I have read the same.

I too have a CUP wing and carbon trunk lid for my RS.

since i didnt want to get in too deep i kept the stock air box and cooling fans.

for the gains of the CUP air box i dont think it was worth fooling around with...

Love the all red tail lights, really cleans the rear of the car up for me!

i dig it!

when you get tired of that color, think how bitchin' it would look with no decals, factory black wheels, and wrap the mirrors and wing end plates gloss black to match the factory black wheels!
of course you would want an orange GT3RS script for the trunk lid.

if you come across a good used set of factory black RS wheels, nab em'!

There was a Black RS on 6speed not long ago with Silver alloys, silver wing mirrors, silver decals/side scripts and silver rear spoiler elements. Looked very very nice indeed.

BUT that matt black RS you just posted does look rather good!

That is the only (Red) decal going back on after they wrap my car. I should be posting pictures next week Sunday, maybe some progress pics in the meanwhile.

How do you like the Europipe? I had one on my 996 GT3.
