Default Track goodies for the 10/11 RS

Anyone confirm any of the following for the new RS?

Track rims...CCW making some?
Half cage...can we order an OEM one?
Tires...how much rubber can we fit under these beasts?
Is anyone finding the plates welded in for the cage?

Spoke with John at CCW last week. Hesaid he will begin the mfg process on RS wheels in about 2 weeks (so probably 4-6 weeks before ready for ship ... although he sounds really busy, so maybe even longer ). He was thinking 285 front, 335 rear ... seems awful big up front. No plates for me.

have not decided on wheels, tires and roll bar yet...want to wait for more options before ordering.

if aftermarket wheels cost more but look better, may use the OEM for track instead.

did everyone get their torque wrench yet? which one to get?

Ahh. Good point. Anything else we need to add to the list? Pads? Rotors? Would be nice to have an aggressive pad that doesn't make the car sound like a school bus when stopping on the street.

John puts out a great product. Never had any issues with his wheels with the RS.1 or 996 GT3. Good, all around, inexpensive wheels.

Note that OEM rotors are now absurdly priced. Rears went up to ~$500 a piece (from ~$200). Fronts are still around $500 also, but Protosport and Deman no longer work (350mm vs 380mm) which were ~$600 a set. Best option I found for front so far are PFCs. For hats and Rotors they cost a hair more than OEM, but once you have them, discs are only about $300 each.

Upon delivery (Porsche of the Main Line) I am asking them to:

change brake fluid to Motul 600
Euro alignment spec
Guards diff. (might as well get it over with)
Roll bar
I won't mess with pads until I track it and see what I have.

Do you/they know what exactly is the euro spec? Is there a difference in how high they are sitting? Thanks.

I am sure that the US has some lame rule that will require a different set up. (sarcastic) I am working on the specs to see if there is a difference.

Love my CCW's but I heard and saw in a add in Racer mag that Forgeline is producing center lock wheels. As you all might know Forgeline wheels are very high quality.

Only their current one and 3-pieces. Their welded 2 pieces wheels were terrible. Simply bad design with too much stress where they are welded. Everyone I knew who had a set and tracked their cars either had wheels crack and leak at the welds or completely separate at the welds. Forgeline service was also very slow with lots of backlog. Getting a set re-welded normally took about 6 weeks. A re-eld job was typically only good for a year before they cracked again. Hence why those tradictional Forgeline 5-spoke wheels magically went away. Forgeline has since gotten smarter and makes 1-piece or 3-piece wheels. If you ever see a set of those old 2-piece wheels for sale, "run Forest run."

rad who has had just every wheel made on earth would most likely agree.
you want wheels and you got $$$, bbs motorsport
you want wheels and you dont have $$$, ccw

6 weeks to repair a set of wheels?
in 6 weeks a lot of things can happen.
some of us could have bought sold bought sold bought sold a dozens cars.
and who knows, i could have died of an heart attack....

i had 9 sets of CCW, EVERY set was custom cut, and evey set was delivered to me from FL to CA in less than 6 days from the time or ordering to the time it's at my door. now that's customer service.

i love BBS motorsport, but unlike njgt, i cannot afford them. but they are light strong and pretty. just $$$$
