GT3-Boxter -Auto Cross - Man!
Went to our first Autocross of the season. Just a practice. One of the project cars that made its first appearance. A boxter with a GT3 motor, straight pipes and a mad man behind the wheel bouncing off the limiter, and loud!! Great times in the rain- standing water most of the track. GT3 did fine. A cone took out a 2010 turbo radiator. Poor guy.

Gregg Fordahl- He will be busy with ALMS since Alex Jobs is back. I did not ask but would expect to see a couple people driving it in Kansas later in the year. It is a fuc*ing rocket. John- you would like it.... like it a lot.

Is the 1st 996 compared to 1st 986 boxster pretty much share the same from
doors to front bodywise? Wouldn't it be easier to build a c4 chassis 996 probably a convertible version with a gt3 motor and then modify with a boxster rear to fit? Or
I'm smoking crack? Seems with a boxster chassis u need to cut alot of firewall to make
it fit. Mike ps- back to drinking beer and watching the winter olympics. Mike

My bust. I met with the owner: the car is a 3.8 997S motor. Still a sick machine. Makes sense since it is a autocross car not track so the sump is not an issue.

Building a GT3 powered Boxster/Cayman is a $75k+ project + a donor car. Pretty hard to justify.
