It's a release strap, not a door pull.

you dont need door pull.
to close door, just close it by the window sill (remove the window permanently, dead wt)
to open the door, reach out and use outside door handle.

yes it does.
kind of like RSA. when i drove RSA, a student of mine pulled on the strap trying to steady himself, the door opened........ luckily he had the presence of mind to pull the door shut QUICKLY.

IMHO....

The whole strap+stock assembly mismatch design is an embarrassment and a distraction. They were probably designed by the same guys who designed the .2 RS Sunoco gas station decals.

They should have redone the entire inside door panel, flat ,basic and proper strap/door pull.

I am afraid Ferry Porsche is turning in his grave. Let the real racing division design/adapt some proper race door panels/handles, etc.

As much as I love my RS (I had two so far) the purity and simplicity of the original RS interior surpasses the current ones.

I am embarrassed mine has CUP HOLDERS!!!

Also the steering wheel is too designer oriented vs a proper race oriented wheel.

They should do a RS touring version ( I guess ours) and a true RS lightweight version, like the original RS, no glove box, emptied out, that is what I would have ordered.....

However, I have to say some of the coolest features of the .2RS are:

Front wheel arches extensions/wider track

Center lock wheels

New aluminum rear wing

Titanium Exhaust

Now you are talking! Porsche did a lot of things better in the 'olden' days.

Hey, no need for yet more 911 model proliferation:

RS Touring = GT3. You really don't need delete aircon and a cage to get the groceries
RS Lightweight = Cup car. If you're that serious, by a cheap 4x4 hauler and a trailer

I suppose you are right, after all... they didn't have 13 models of the 911 back then!
