The photos of the white/red don't look that bad at all. The red doesn't seem so florescent.

But the Yellow brakes and Red wheels got to go.

Thanks for posting the review.

Nothing unexpected in the comments but still nice to read.

I thought the gearing was going to be a lot shorter 77 mph in 2nd and 106 mph in 3rd seems really too long. The non RS GT3 gears must be really, really long.

Regular GT3 does 85 in 2nd and somewhere around 115 in 3rd - I don't have the chart handy.

Correct - I have attained those in my car. Would love the shorter RS gears!

The article is pretty interesting.

How come a 2010 GT3 RS with the ultra wide wing generates just 170Kg (375 lbs) of downforce at 186mph? It is twice as much as the 2010 GT3, but...

The Viper ACR (ok it is too much) generates 1,000 lbs at 150 mph. Even the 2005 F430 (no wing) generates 616 lbs at 186mph.

0.1 secs quicker to 100 mph than the 2010 GT3? despite the extra 15Hp and the shorter gears?

Very interesting article on the ACR aero package here. Make sure you read the side bar article at the bottom about the front splitter and dive planes. Maybe Porsche didn't spend as much time engineering the aero package as Chrysler did...

I think the shorter gearing just effectively compensates for the inherent taller gearing created by the 325 rear tires vs 305 on the regular GT3.

.1 is a joke but Porsche is always conservative on those performance numbers so my theory is that the marketing and product management people come up with them in a vacuum. They probably lay out a chart of all the 911 variants until they come up with the relative performance they want across all the models. One of the car mags (maybe C&D?) tested the GT3 at 3.7 sec I think.

Conservative yes...

Some german mag had three test drivers do 0 to 62 MPH in the latest 911 TT with PDK and Sport Chrono. Someone somewhere else said Porsche is really aiming at 2.9 seconds to 62 mph with the newer S variant Turbo. I'm just waiting for the 991 TT to come out.

+1

Porsche engineered everything, they have the technology, but they engineered the Cayman below the 911 and above the Boxster just to capture market share.

Because the rear-engine configuration doesn´t allow them to work on the underside of the car which is much more important than any wing you can put on.
