bing! ... just as the configurator predicted + 5500 for PTS ... I think these guys are dreaming if they are going to get over MSRP for a PTS car ...

be strong people ... dont give in!

So I contacted these guys, with guzzler tax etc the total sticker is $131,245 and they seemed like they
would discuss terms based on an MSRP sale.

I would bite, but a trade-in in the $70k's on my '07 leaves an uncomfortable gap to fill ... I'd prefer the car with PCCB's anyway

ho hum...

I got to sit in it. Yes, they want 10k over... They are going to ask 40k over for either the new turbo or the RS. I forget which one... Very nice dealer!

They suck.

I hope they all sit on the floor until the next revision ships.

I contacted their internet/fleet guy with a genuine offer to trade and buy at
MSRP ... they pretty rapidly responded to my enquiry ... we just couldn't come
to an agreement on the trade in on my '07 with 5k miles on it ...

So, anyone on the list thinking of buying this car, just ignore the markup ...

the sales rep claimed that "they had a lot of interest but if anything changed he would be in touch" ... which I optimisically interpret as "no one wants to buy it
at +10k and eventually we may come to our senses..."

I'm sure Pioneer are counting on the fact that someone in SoCal has enough excess cash and need for instant gratification to just cough up the extra dough over MSRP for this unique GT3. There is certainly an opportunity to make some money here (for Pioneer) vs the holding costs. At what point does Pioneer fold? Well the new model year is still aways off, so I'd say a while.

Yeah I guess so... spec wise it's almost exactly the features I would order on a car, it's mising PCCB (IMHO) and some "trim" options that I would throw in, and
I dont really need PCM 3.0 ... and as someone else said it's in a "love it or hate it" color ...

I guess we'll see ...

at this point I am holding out for another prod run later in the year ... or sticking with my (severely de-valued) but much beloved '07 ...

ur trade in value is probably 75-80 at dealers?

hahaha, they have much interest... interest and putting money on the table is very different. i have a lot of interest in MANY THINGS...

if that car had less options and i would pay more for less options too, i would have called them.

Yup that's about it .. he was pitching a trade in around 75 because:

... it cost them about 2200 to CPO it
... the owner likes to maintain a 10% profit margin
... they'd probably need to put new tyres on it (not)
... many cars they are selling/auctioning are going for mid 70's
... etc etc etc

I guess I will just trade in at Carlsen they have 2 GT3's, a white one with
14k miles for 97k and a Cobalt Blue with 6k miles for 103k ...

I agree about the options, almost ALL of the dealer specced cars have PCM, heated seats, etc etc etc ... all I want is:

- GT2 seats
- PCCB
- dynamic engine mounts
- thicker alacantara wheel
- some trick trim bits; carbon, ctr console painted ext etc etc

somewhere around 134k ... this car was close enough to consider at MSRP
but I really couldn't eat the 65k depreciation, if he had offered me 90 I would
have bitten

Stevens Creek claim that if they do another prod run that I'll have a slot!

Yeah I have a holding deposit on a slot with SCP ... I think that the bigger question is not if they will honor that but if Porsche will do an additional run of cars this year ...

was hoping to do euro del in the summer ...

at the sort of prices we pay for these ... I really want to order a car and not buys someone else's or the dealers spec ..

Wow...$75 on trade for an 07 GT3. I did find a CPO'd 07 with minimal options I can pick up for $79K, but it has 12K miles. Livermore, CA has a nice white one that is CPO'd and has a cage that is optioned right but they won't let it go for less than $84K. I wish I could find a 2010 with no options expect the Thicker alcantara wheel and dynamic mounts...that's it!

I think Carlsen now has two 997.1 GT3s -- they just got a black one, I am told.
