Default disconnecting battery to instal flashed evo ecu resulted in

my getting a traction control failure and PASM failure indicator messages.

anyone with a quick fix?

interestingly enough; I pulled the battery out of my 997 C4S to jump the hood opener of my RS; (as I did not have cables long enough to not pull it) and that car also showed a PASM failure indicator!!

I've seen the same thing happen. It should clear itself in a short time and all will be OK.

thanks, Brothers!!

BTW, be careful of the advice you accept on the board...one person suggested that I pull the inner right fender pull ring to open the hood that was locked when the battery was disconnected...not only did it not open the hood; its very delicate and actually functions to open the gas fill door.. and unfortunately; I gave it a good tug and it came off!!.....dang....

go ahead and give it a pull... it unlocks the gas fill door....I thought since it did not release the hood with a passive tug,and thus, thinking I was skydiving and reaching for the beginner rip cord, I gave it a manly pull....more is better, right?....wrong; it popped off like a cheap price tag!! One day, when I am really bored, I will try to figure out how to put back on

(by the way, at my DZ; if a beginner throws away his rip cord; he buys the beer for everyone)....ask me how I know

I hate to state the obvious, but if that were a legitimate way to open the hood it would state it in the manual ...

The older gen I 996's used to have a wire behind the driver rear light cluster to open the engine cover, and I think the 993 and 964's had such a release wire
under the fender cover. I do not think the 996 gen II's or 997's have such.
